Providence's Ryan Gomes names preseason player of the year
PROVIDENCE, R.I. Providence College basketball player Ryan Gomes is the Big East preseason player of the year. The announcement was made yesterday in New York.
Gomes is also one of seven players names to the preseason all conference team.
Gomes is a six-foot-seven forward who averaged 18.9 points per game last season.
Gomes and the Friars will tip off the 2004-2005 season on November Sixth at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
