Bush running in familiar territory today
TROY, Mich President Bush is wrapping up a two-day Rust Belt swing today aimed at appealing to disaffected Democrats. The president's stumping in the same three states as yesterday -- Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania -- and continuing his pitch for Democrats unhappy on social issues like abortion and gay marriage. He's also wooing any who think John Kerry would shirk the call to defend liberty sounded by President Kennedy.
And Bush will contrast his leadership style with Kerry's -- painting it as bold and decisive and the exact opposite of his rival.
The president has spent much of the campaign portraying his Democratic rival as shifting with the political winds, and himself as someone who makes tough calls and sticks with them.
