State reports four flu cases to CDC
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Rhode Island sent its first official report on flu activity to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week.

The state reports sporadic activity, which means there is no widespread outbreak of the illness.

The Health Department received reports of four cases in Rhode Island, which it says is normal for this time of year.

Flu activity is being closely monitored this year because the nation's flu vaccine supply has been cut in half.

The state will send the CDC statistics on flu activity every Tuesday.
