EAST GREENWICH, R.I. More green to green space projects.

Environmental officials today are announcing 3.8 million dollars in grant money for preservation projects across Rhode Island.

Fifteen grants are being awarded to communities and land trusts to preserve farmland and other open space.

Governor Carcieri is among the officials announcing the awards. He's also touting one of the bond measures that will appear on the November ballot.

The measure -- question number eight -- would provide 70 million dollars in bonds for open space recreation, and bay and watershed protection.
