Even the well-off are worried about the economy
UNDATED It's the biggest decline in the confidence of the affluent since McDonald Financial Group started surveying the sentiment of its clients. Confidence in the overall state of the economy dropped 13 points from the group's last survey in July.
That's a big reversal from the previous direction of the survey. About 40 percent of those questioned thought the economy is in excellent or good shape. That's down from 60 percent of those surveyed during the last quarter.
Why should the average American be concerned about what the affluent think?
McDonald Group senior vice president David Legeay says a lot of people surveyed are business owners, and they may well be your employer.
