Central Falls has new police chief
CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. There's a new police chief in Central Falls. Joseph Moran was named chief last night after a meeting with the city personnel board. He'll be officially sworn in at a date to be determined. Moran had been acting chief since Thomas Wilson was fired in May after a drawn-out, messy affair with the city's mayor.
Moran is a former patrolman and is a state representative from Central Falls. He attended the F-B-I Municipal Police Academy in Quantico, Virginia this past summer. He also speaks Spanish.
The Pawtucket Times reports Moran and two captains took written tests and had interviews with Mayor Charles Moreau.
