Fraternal Order of Police endorses Kennedy
PROVIDENCE, R.I. Congressman Patrick Kennedy has received the endorsement of the Rhode Island Fraternal Order of Police. The group says Kennedy can best represent its interests in Washington and in Rhode Island. The police union praised Kennedy's efforts over the past decade to upgrade technology at local police departments. The group also praised Kennedy's support of the Assault Weapons Ban, which expired this year.
Kennedy said he is honored to receive the endorsement.
He's going for his sixth term in Congress. His Republican challenger is Dave Rogers.
