Silver shines for a fourth straight year as the vehicle color of choice
UNDATED What's your favorite color? Chances are when you buy a new car, it's silver. Lorene Boettcher (BEHT'-chur), manager of global design and color marketing at P-P-G Industries, says silver was the most popular vehicle color in the 2004 model year -- the fourth straight year that's happened. Boettcher says silver seems to appeal to people because it gives the notion that it's modern and has high-tech attributes.
She says there's also a growing interest in blues -- especially turquoise shades.
