A good grade for handling credit
UNDATED Forget the stereotype of the irresponsible college kid maxing out dad's credit card by splurging on good times. A new study by the Georgetown University Credit Research Center says the opposite is true. Dan Drummond of Your Credit Card Companies, a group of financial services firms that offer credit education says the study shows most college students have smaller balances and lower credit limits than people in their same age range.
Drummond says reasons for this include learning at an early age the importance of maintaining a good credit history and the overall importance of using credit wisely.
