Gas prices rise more than a nickel
WASHINGTON The government says the cost of driving from point A to point B is getting more expensive. According to the Energy Department, the average retail price of gasoline is now up to a dollar-99. That's up more than five cents from last week.
It also marks the fourth straight week prices at the pump have risen. Prices are now 42 cents higher than they were this time last year.
Still, they have yet to reach the peak of two-oh-six a gallon set in May.
One of the key factors behind the high price of gasoline is the soaring cost of oil.
