Bombing hits Shiite mosque in eastern Pakistan, four dead
LAHORE, Pakistan A bombing at a Shiite mosque in eastern Pakistan has killed at least four people. A witness says a man carrying a briefcase tried to enter the mosque during evening prayers but was blocked by security guards. He then detonated a bomb in the briefcase.
It's the third attack this month against a religious target in Punjab, stoking fears of rising sectarian violence between Shiite and Sunni Muslims. More than 70 people died in the other attacks.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
