Earthquake center in Colorado detects powerful earthquake near Nicaragua
GOLDEN, Colo. A powerful earthquake rocked Nicaragua's western coast on Saturday, sending residents running from their homes. No major injuries or damage were immediately reported.
The U-S National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado, says the magnitude six-point-nine quake struck at 5:26 p-m Eastern, and was centered about 50 miles southwest of Managua.
