Tiverton schools crack down on out-of-town students

TIVERTON, R.I. (AP) -- The Tiverton school district is cracking down on out-of-town students who are attending its schools.

Three students were told that today would be the last day they could attend school in the town. The ( Fall River) Herald-News reports school officials and authorities concluded the students lived in Fall River, not in Tiverton as they claimed. Police followed the children home, and documented they spend the night in Fall River.

The childrenÔŅĹs mother sent in a copy of her Rhode Island driver license, but police say the address listed was her motherÔŅĹs.

Officials say ten other families whose children attend Tiverton schools are being investigated.
