Singer Melissa Etheridge diagnosed with breast cancer, cancels tour
LOS ANGELES Singer Melissa Etheridge is canceling her tour to undergo treatment for breast cancer. Her publicist says the 43-year-old singer will undergo surgery, and her doctors expect a "speedy and complete recovery."
The publicist says the cancer was spotted early, and Etheridge has already begun receiving treatment.
Etheridge and actress Tammy Lynn Michaels held a commitment ceremony in September of last year.
Her Web site says she had planned on playing eleven dates in seven cities this month.
