State asks businesses to report vaccine supply
PROVIDENCE, R.I. Health officials are asking businesses, agencies and other organizations to cancel planned distribution of the influenza vaccine and report their supply to the state. A major supplier of the vaccine in the U.S. lost its license, leading to a reduction of about half in the expected supply.
The state wants to ensure the highest priority groups get the vaccine first.
CVS Pharmacy Corporation is donating $2,500 doses of flu vaccine to the state.
