Hooking your computer and phone
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

UNDATED Verizon is teaming up with a company called Linksys. Customers that sign up for Verizon's Voicewing service will get a phone adapter and two phone ports from Linksys.

Voice over I-P service is growing in popularity and under some plans it could be cheaper that traditional phone service.

This agreement is just the latest in a series of agreements between Linksys and telecommunications companies. Vonage and A-T-and-T have also announced they will use Linksys equipment for their voice over I-P service.

Research shows that between NOW and 2008 more than 33 (m) million voice over I-P enabled broadband access devices will shipped worldwide.

The Linksys deal is all part of an effort to upgrade home networking.
