Rhode Island Hospital continues expansion
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A 69 (m) million dollar project to double the size of Rhode Island Hospital�s emergency department is one step closer to fruition.
The �bridge building� is nearly complete. It will house a new emergency department�expected to open in February�and new operating rooms attached to a two-story covered garage.
It�s the most visible part of a massive hospital renovation effort that started in 2001.
Other projects include a cancer treatment center and a proposed pediatric imaging center.
Total renovation costs come to nearly 100 (m) million dollars.
