Pong bounces back
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Undated-AP -- It's back to the 80's for gamers with a new collection of Atari's greatest hits.

Classics like "Pong," "Centipede" and "Asteroid" all are back in a repackaging of 85 early video games called "Atari Anthology." They come on a single disc that can be played on either Xbox or PlayStation 2.

Atari's Wim Stocks says the games are the originals -- with some minor technical enhancements.

Don't worry about today's techies altering your memories. "Pong" is still delightfully low-tech -- just 2 rectangles for electronic paddles, a ball bouncing back and forth and that constant little "bleep, bleep" sound. Stocks says, "We wouldn't have it any other way."

"Atari Anthology" is due out in November for about 20 dollars.
