Fatal car crash leaves one man dead
(AP) -- A late-night car crash in Providence claimed the life of one man.
The victim�s Honda Civic struck a telephone pole on Mount Pleasant Avenue around 11:20 p.m., according to Providence Police.
The male victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival, according to Officer Ken Penza, who is part of the accident reconstruction team.
Penza said it appears that the victim was wearing his seat belt and that both air bags in his vehicle deployed.
�Speed is definitely a factor� in the accident, Penza said.
On Thursday, police had not released the victim�s name and were investigating the incident.
