Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. Soon you'll be able to hear more than a busy signal on your cell phone.

Apple Computer and Motorola have signed a deal to put Apple's iTunes music service on cell phones.

The new service will allow users to transfer songs from their computers to Motorola mobile handsets.

iTunes is the Apple service that sells online music downloads for 99 cents a song.

Apple C-E-O Steve Jobs says the mobile phone market has great potential for Apple, with an estimated one and a-half (b) billion users worldwide.

The new service is expected to go into operation in the first half of next year.
