Computer Virus
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

NEW YORK A new computer virus is said to be spreading quickly, launching an attack against Google and other Internet search sites.

The virus, described as a variant of the so-called MyDoom attack, is spread via e-mail. It has prevented some users from getting quick answers to search requests.

The flood of requests has caused some search sites to slow their responses.

Computer security provider Symantec says the severity of the attack is at a level four, with five being the most severe.

The attack on Google came on the same day the company revealed more about its plans to launch an initial public offering.
