LOS ANGELES, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- After crossing a major threshold of one million high definition television (HDTV) households, HD cable network INHD announced today that it will celebrate the milestone with a commitment to bring its viewers over 100 hours of new programming every month. The multi- channel network is among the most widely distributed HD networks, and is currently available to over 45 million cable subscribers. The announcement was made by Rob Jacobson, President and CEO of INHD parent company, iN DEMAND Networks.

"We're pleased with the tremendous progress we made since launching the network last September, especially the growth in households and their high satisfaction with the network," said Jacobson. "We realize that building on these achievements will require a major investment in programming and to that end we are stepping up to the plate with some major new additions to the schedule."

As part of the commitment, INHD has announced the start of production of five new original series, each produced in the 1080i HD format:

Hollywood Walks is an exciting new program where everyone's favorite motion picture, television and recording personalities get their "star" along Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame. Hollywood Walks showcases the entire induction ceremony, featuring an insider's view of the famed boulevard and reaction from fans as they witness the unveiling of that golden star.

Reel Look takes INHD viewers for a stroll along the "Red Carpet" with entertainment reporter/host Kristin Martin who talks it up with Hollywood stars and insiders attending their latest movie premieres, award shows or film festivals. Reel Look is a 30-minute segment with a new show scheduled twice each month.

Fields of Glory is a new series which captures the spirit, excitement, and passion of College Football today. Each 30-minute episode showcases a different stadium, the history, the traditions and the time-honored rituals that are at the heart of college football. From the revered Grotto of Notre Dame to the excitement of Michigan's Big House; from the famous Hedges at Georgia to what has been called "the most exciting 25 seconds in college football" -- the Clemson Tigers infamous run from the Hill to Death Valley.

Go! is a the new monthly series that provides an intimate and edgy look at how we get from here to there, from fundamental modes of transportation, to the world's most exotic, high-end toys, from driving schools to skydiving and from antique cars to private Ferrari collections. Ride along with host Mel Sellick as Go! covers it all in exciting high definition. The latest installment of this series premieres Sunday July 25th at 8:30pm on INHD2.

Major League Ballparks: Cathedrals of the Game is a behind-the-scenes profile of 14 stadiums, each episode a separate history of the local teams and the hometowns, highlighting the legacy of the classic ballparks and the majesty of modern stadiums. The show captures the nostalgia of each ballpark, providing fans with an epic baseball story like never before. A fifteenth episode profiles the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The series, which will be exclusive to INHD and its cable affiliates, will premiere in July and is a co- production of INHD and Major Leagues Baseball.

Additional original programming will be presented throughout the year through INHD's partnerships with the following providers:

Major League Baseball: Up to three games a week and a total of 75 MLB games in high definition in 2004. The extensive HD schedule includes a majority of the league's teams, including the 2003 World Series champion Florida Marlins, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies.
