Fence Fiasco

4-thousand dollars for privacy is a lot of money, so you expect perfection, but when you don't get it, you Call For Action. It has been Jennie Gormely's home for generations; she grew up next door, and raised her family here. Now, she is ready for a little privacy from the street.

Jennie Gormely:

When I saw it I loved it... And I didn't care what it would cost.

Jennie went to a local home improvement store and chose this style fence. It cost $4000, no small change and it came with a one year guarantee.  Good thing it did because 8 months later her privacy was compromised.

Jennie Gormely:

Quite a while after my son came to me and said, 'ma, do you know the fence is bulging?  I said what?

Jennie says she called the store immediately to complain.

Representative at the store:

We'll be there in two weeks.

Two weeks came and went, she called again.

Representative at the store:

We'll be there in two weeks

Again, she waited two weeks again, a no show. Two weeks would come and nobody was here. Get the picture!

Jennie Gormely:

So finally I called one more time to see what happens, and she says to me, well, there are 50 people ahead of you and I said all right, thank you, and then I hung up and I called Susan Hogan.

When Call For Action contacted the store, we weren't given the two week runaround...In fact, that night Jennie got a welcomed surprise phone call.

Jennie Gormely:

He said we'll be there tomorrow morning at 10:00, and they were here, at 10:00!

So what's the deal?  Well the store apologized for the long wait and said the weather was to blame for many of the delays.  But as to why Jennie continued to get the runaround...we didn't get an answer for that.  Bottom line, Jennie got her fenced fixed and her privacy back.
