U-S military releases more prisoners from Abu Ghraib prison
Abu Ghraib, Iraq-AP -- Hundreds more detainees at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq are free, after being released by the U-S military today. Relatives waited outside the prison walls, then followed as five buses exited the compound. It's the fifth major release of detainees since the prison became the center of the inmate abuse scandal.
The release comes one day after the military said that as many as 14-hundred detainees would be let go or transferred to Iraqi authorities by the June 30th handover of power.
