Laci Peterson's mother testified Scott peterson distant after disappearance
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Redwood City, California-AP -- Laci Peterson's mother says Scott Peterson seemed distant and avoided friends and family the evening he reported his wife missing.

Sharon Rocha testified that as the two searched near the couple's home in Modesto, Peterson didn't respond to a question about where his wife might be.

Under cross-examination Rocha testified that in the days leading up to Laci's disappearance, there didn't appear to be anything wrong or out of the ordinary with Laci's behavior.

Rocha wrapped up her tearful testimony yesterday. Other family members are expected to take the stand in the days ahead.

Scott Peterson could face the death penalty if convicted of killing his pregnant wife and their unborn son.
