EPA conduct soil tests in the Wanskuk area of Providence
This morning cars buried in the 1950's are causing quite a stir for residents in one Providence neighborhood. The EPA is conducting soil tests in the Wanskuk area of the city trying to determine if the soil is contaminated.
Residents are complaining of skin irritations and foul smells surrounding the plot of vacant land. The EPA tells Eyewitness News it could take as long as six weeks before the surface soil test results come back.
A depth test not performed yet will give a more accurate time frame for clean-up.
