A high-def sound system
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Undated-AP -- High-definition television isn't just about getting a sharp picture.

A good audio system is also needed to deliver the high-def experience.

Dolby five-point-one Surround Sound is the standard for a high-definition audio system.

The audio systems range from a home-theater-in-a-box system which sells for about 500 dollars to a high-end system which can cost as much as five-thousand dollars.

Besides a receiver and speakers, there are digital V-H-S and D-V-D and digital audio players that can be part of the system.

As with high-definition television, the price of high-definition audio components are expected to go down as more people get H-D-T-V in their homes.
