The idea of being awake during brain surgery would horrify many people, but for Ray Farkas that wasn't enough. He decided he should also record the entire operation with, not one, but four cameras.

Ray Farkas says, "The surgeon told me I would be awake for the whole thing and I figured why shouldn't I narrate my own brain surgery."

Farkas is a TV and film producer by trade, but the surgery wasn't for entertainment purposes. Ray suffers from Parkinson's Disease which caused constant tremors.

He says, "When I walked, I had to think about putting one foot in front of the other. It didn't come naturally anymore."

To correct the problem doctors implanted wires into his brain which send out electrical pulses and block the brain signals that cause the arms and legs to tremble.  As soon as the device is powered, the tremors disapppear.

Farkas says, "I can walk again without even thinking about it. I can do everything again. I'm not slow anymore.  I'm better off with two holes in my head. I recommend it for everybody."
