Government Offers Disaster Loans to Agriculture-Dependent Businesses
(Boston-AP) -- The federal government is offering some help to agriculture-related businesses hurt by last summer's wet weather conditions.
The U-S Small Business Association says federal disaster loans are available to small, non-farm businesses dependent on agriculture and located in certain counties in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
The loans are also being made available to small agricultural cooperatives. The Rhode Island counties covered by the program are Bristol, Newport and Providence.
Eligible small businesses may quality for loans of up to one-point-five (m) million dollars. They have interest rates of less than three percent and terms of up to 30 years.
