Governor Names New Director of Labor and Training Department

(Providence-AP) -- The state Department of Labor and Training has a new director. Governor Carcieri appointed Adelita Orefice (Or-uh-FEE' chee) to the post.

Orefice replaces interim director Marvin Perry, who will retire at the end of next month.

Orefice has been the Director of Elderly Affairs for a year. She also worked in the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and as an investigator for the U-S Department of Labor.
