Condom dispensers to go up in city government officers
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Washington-AP -- People doing business with city government in the nation's capital will soon be able to pick up free condoms too.

City health officials tell The Washington post they plan to install more than 50 plain white condom dispensers in offices frequented by the public. They include the D-C Housing Authority and the departments of human services, motor vehicles and public works. The public school system already gives out 50-thousand condoms a year.

Ivan Torres, the interim director of the city's H-I-V/AIDS Administration, says he wants condoms to be "as common as water fountains."

The goal is to pass out 550-thousand male condoms, 45-thousand latex dental dams and about 30-thousand female condoms.
