RI Guard troops being deployed

(Providence-AP) -- Fifty members of a Rhode Island National Guard medical company are headed out this morning.

The troops from the 249th Air Ambulance Company are going to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

They'll be handling air medical evacuations for Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Their deployment is expected to last for one year.
