France raising security alert level
Paris-AP -- France is now on higher alert. Authorities say they're raising the national security alert level by a notch, because of end of the year festivities, and what it calls "the international environment."
France's alert level is based on the U-S color-coded system. It's moving up from yellow to orange -- meaning there will now be more security in train stations and other transportation centers.
France says the raised alert isn't the result of any "precise threat."
