Rock star Meat Loaf is recovering from heart surgery in London
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

London-AP -- Rock singer Meat Loaf is recovering after having heart surgery in a London hospital.

His record label, Mercury, says the surgery last week was to restore Meat Loaf's normal heartbeat.

The 52-year-old was diagnosed with a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat after he collapsed on stage in London earlier this month. Besides an irregular heartbeat, the condition causes dizziness and fainting.

Mercury says Meat Loaf -- whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday -- is recovering and will undergo further tests later this week.

After that, the label says it will release more details about Meat Loaf's condition, as well as his touring plans.
