City orders eight houses destroyed by mill fire to be torn down

(Pawtucket-AP) -- The city of Pawtucket has ordered eight houses destroyed by a mill fire to be torn down.

The houses can be torn down only on weekends, after approval by zoning officials.

The houses are on Kenyon Avenue and Darlingdale Avenue.

The cause of the Greenhalgh Mill fire remains under investigation.

A total of 17 properties were damaged and 36 families left homeless.
