Warwick, Woonsocket get federal dollars to get rid of lead paint in homes
(Washington-AP) -- The cities of
Warwick and Woonsocket are getting help from the federal government to eliminate dangerous lead paint hazards in residentsďż˝ homes.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development is awarding almost two-and-a-half million dollars in grant money to the two cities.
The funding will be used to perform lead hazard control work. The money will also be used for community outreach and education in low-income areas.
