R.I. troops honored at service tonight
(Cranston-AP) --
Rhode Islands military is being honored tonight in a religious service in Cranston.
The ecumenical service is to pay tribute to the three Rhode Island National Guardsmen who have died in the war in Iraq, and to honor those serving in the Guard.
The deaths of Sergeant Charles Todd Caldwell and Staff Sergeant Joseph Camara earlier this month and Specialist Michael Andrade last week were the first casualties besetting the guard since World War Two.
The service is at 7 p-m at Immaculate Conception Church, on Oaklawn Avenue.
