Man suspected of shooting doctor kills self in front of restaurant
Los Angeles-AP -- Police in Los Angeles say a man suspected of shooting and wounding a doctor at a suburban hospital killed himself Sunday outside a fast food restaurant. Investigators had been looking for 73-year-old Eugene Guevara in connection with Friday's shooting of a doctor at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Baldwin Park. Guevara was once a patient there.
Police say Guevara shot himself in the stomach and, after authorities arrived, shot himself in the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. No one else was injured.
Guevara left behind a suicide note, but investigators do not know why Guevara shot the doctor, who's reported in stable condition. The contents of the note were not immediately disclosed.
