New products from Hewlett-Packard
Undated-AP -- Hewlett-Packard is rolling out 158 new digital gadgets. Among the products is "H-P D-V-D Movie Writer." It transfers V-C-R home movies onto D-V-Ds.
Movie Writer is priced at 399 dollars and will be available in mid-September.
H-P says about 35 percent of American households have a camcorder, two-thirds of which still use non-digital formats that produce tapes which can be difficult to search and edit.
The company says the focus of the big product rollout is on photography, entertainment and home computing, including some all-new products and upgrades of H-P's popular printers and other favorites.
Hewlett-Packard is also setting up retail experience kiosks at stores to help people use the new products.
