A new video game for the blind

Undated-AP -- A Massachusetts company has released its second video game for the blind or visually impaired.

The company was formerly known as "Z-Form" but has recently changed its name to "Allinplay."

The new game is called "Crazy Eights" and is based on the popular card game.

Text-to-speech technology reads every move. Special sound effects alert the player to all that is happening.

The key is that everything is on line.

"Allinplay" is offering a 15 day free trial.

The company's first game from the blind is "Poker".

In both games, special in-game live text chat lets you maintain an ongoing dialog with the players at your table.

Paul Silva with "Allinplay" says the games have been displayed at various conventions for the blind and they have been a hit. He says the games gives the visually impaired video game player an even playing field.
