(Walpole-AP) -- A Central Falls man was killed and another man injured seriously in an accident on Route 95 northbound on the Walpole-Sharon (Massachusetts) line.
Massachusetts state police say 28-year-old Daniel Tavares, of Pawtucket, was driving drunk and speeding when his B-M-W struck another car and slammed into a tree. It happened shortly before 1 a-m yesterday.
His passenger, 30-year-old Alberto Viegas from Central Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tavares was in critical condition this morning at Boston Medical Center.
State Police spokesman David Paine says Tavares will be charged with drunken driving, motor vehicle homicide, speeding and other charges.
