Man who recruited daughter for bank robbery gets 30-year sentence
Morristown, New Jersey-AP -- A man who used his 15-year-old daughter and one of her teen-age friends for a bank robbery has gotten a 30-year prison sentence. Kevin Miller of Newark, New Jersey, has admitted dressing his daughter in Middle Eastern garb, including a veil, and sending her into a First Union bank last April.
The daughter handed a teller a note mentioning a jihad, or holy war. The note also threatened a bombing if the money was not handed over.
The girl escaped with a little over eleven-hundred dollars. The three led police on a chase before Miller crashed the car.
Both girls pleaded guilty last year and were sentenced to terms in a reformatory.
