The Amber Alert bill is now in Governor Don Carcieri's hands.
That's because the bill has passed both the house and the senate.
The Amber Alert is already in effect in Rhode Island, but putting it the books will ensure further funding.
The Amber plan is an emergency broadcast system used in child abduction cases.
