Eyewitness News is pleased to announce another first in Southern New England- News Chopper 12! News Chopper 12 is a state of the art Bell 206L3 Long Ranger helicopter.

The helicopter--sporting an all-black metal flake paint scheme--will be equipped with a state of the art electronics package, including a FLIR gyro-stabilized camera. News Chopper 12 will also feature an 18 million candlepower searchlight that will allow us to light up nighttime situations.

DAN PETERMAN will be joining us as the full-time staff pilot of News Chopper 12. He is a very skilled and knowledgeable pilot, with significant experience in the specific model of helicopter that we will be flying. Dan will be joined shortly by an experienced aerial photographer who will be assigned full-time to work on News Chopper 12.

DENNIS PROTSKO will be the full-time staff videographer/reporter for News Chopper 12.  Most recently Dennis was the reporter/photographer for WNBC's Chopper 4 in New York.   Dennis brings years of aerial news gathering experience to Eyewitness News.
