U-N inspectors to check security looted nuclear site
Vienna, Austria-AP -- U-N atomic energy experts are heading back to Iraq. They're going to check up on the country's largest nuclear storage complex, to make sure its radioactive material is secure.
That's after looters took barrels of radioactive material from the complex and emptied them to use for storing water. The International Atomic Energy Agency says it wants to make sure all the nuclear material is accounted for.
The complex has tons of nuclear material stored in thousands of barrels. The agency says it's not a great danger to the public, but in the wrong hands it could be used to make so-called "dirty bombs."
The U-N team is authorized to inspect just the one nuclear complex, not any other sites.
Agency inspectors left Iraq before the war began in March.
