Chicago-AP -- The Chicago Cubs picked up a 3-to-2 win over Tampa Bay despite Sammy Sosa's first-inning ejection. Sosa was tossed after umpires found cork in his shattered bat. The Cubs outfielder broke the bat while hitting what appeared to be a run-scoring grounder. But the run was taken off the board and the bat was confiscated.

The Cubs trailed 2-to-0 before winning on Al Levine's (leh-VYNZ') wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth. Troy O'Leary scored the winning run after replacing Sosa in right field.

Mike Remlinger loaded the bases in the ninth before improving to 4-and-0. Levine is 2-and-2.

Carl Crawford's two-run single put the D-Rays ahead 2-to-0 in the second.
