Cincinnati-AP -- Juan Castro delivered the game-winning single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give Cincinnati a 4-to-3 win over the New York Yankees.

The Reds trailed 3-to-1 after pitcher Andy Pettitte hit a run-scoring single in the sixth. But Pettitte gave the lead back in the bottom of the inning, allowing a run on a wild pitch before Ken Griffey Junior scored on Pettitte's throwing error.

Jason Giambi (jee-AHM'-bee) homered for the Yankees, who were playing in Cincinnati for the first time since the Reds swept them in the 1976 World Series.

Chris Reitsma (REETS'-muh) pitched two innings of hitless relief to improve to 4-and-2. Antonio Osuna (oh-SOO'-nuh) surrendered Castro's game-winning hit to fall to 1-and-2.
