More pink slips were handed out Tuesday in Taunton. Forty-seven police officers and two dozen department of public works employees received word they're being let go. The news comes just a few days after 50 firefighters also were told they'll lose their jobs. It's all part of the mayor's plan to reduce the city's seven million dollar budget gap. The cuts will affect 50% of the police force and 40% of the fire department. The City Council is currently looking at alternative fiscal plans that could save at least some of the jobs being cut.
