Case against men accused of plotting to kidnap Posh Spice collapses
Prosecutors say a key witness was unreliable. The men were charged after a story about the alleged plot appeared in a British tabloid, the News of the World, last November.
The witness was paid about 16-thousand dollars by the newspaper. Despite the decision, the newspaper says it stands by its story.
Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, is married to soccer star David Beckham. They are among Britain's biggest celebrities.
A prosecutor says the Beckhams have been told of the decision and he believes they understand the reason behind it.
