Singapore doctors will attempt to separate adult conjoined twins
Singapore-AP -- Conjoined twins say they're elated, but nervous now that doctors in Singapore have agreed to perform a historic surgery to separate them. The 28-year-old sisters from Iran were born joined at the head.
Doctors warn the surgery could kill one or both of the women, or leave them brain dead.
Despite the risk, one twin says they're both more happy than worried.
Their chief surgeon says this is the first time doctors will attempt to separate adult twins who are joined at the head.
The sisters have tried for years to persuade doctors to attempt the procedure. They've said they don't want to live joined together any longer, after a lifetime of sacrifices to accommodate each other.
